Before exploring my Genius Hour project you may want to familiarize yourself with what Genius Hour is.
Here is my simple yet effective explanation of Genius Hour using Powtoon. Powtoon is an awesome platform that enables users to create videos and presentations with the click of a button! There are several styles to choose from and fun characters, fonts and designs to customize your video! As a future teacher, I could totally see myself using this tool with my students as they can choose this route to present their projects or assignments.

ReplyDeleteFirst and foremost I loved your topic that you had chosen to do you research project on. Knowing how involved you are with running I believe this was a very good topic for you to look into and more importantly will help other’s who have the same passion aim for the same goal!
To begin, your genius hour reflection posts were very informative. I loved how your posts were different because you incorporated videos of yourself discussing the topic and even went through the journey yourself. You include multiple images, reliable research, hyperlinks, and personal information throughout your reflections which ultimately made me learn more about the Boston Marathon and what it takes to become a participant in this race. More importantly, each of these reflection posts were honest and you made me aware of how hard it is to even be accepted into completing this race. Overall, your reflection posts were informative and were personable as I was able to learn more about your accomplishments through this project while striving for this goal.
To continue, your genius hour project also involved very engaging artifacts including your intro, proposal, movie trailer and your TED Talk. Each of these provided me with the opportunity to learn about your genius hour and allowed me to become aware of what you were to discuss in your reflection posts. To continue, each artifact had a clear description about is context and why it was there to allow viewers to have a glimpse into the information that was going to be presented.
Finally, the layout, text, and language were purposeful and clear. I was able to find everything within your page easily and was able to navigate back to pages I was looking for. Your chosen text and style was very clear and neat as I was able to find the title of the page. As stated before, your language used was engaging and personable which made me want to continue reading more about your genius hour project! You moved beyond the superficial responses and instead made your audience connect to the information being presented.
Overall, this genius hour project blog page was informative and engaging and I am very glad that I had the opportunity to explore it!
